Cashmere: Fall in love with the first touch.
Cashmere wool is one of the most luxurious and expensive natural yarns. You will feel delicate delicacy, amazing softness and warmth - you will soon discover that you are holding something special in your hands. Cashmere has long been considered an extremely high quality material, hence the nickname "fiber for kings",. Today you do not need to be a king to enjoy its luxurious touch cashmere on your skin. Cashmere clothes are not the cheapest, especially if they are made by hand from the highest quality cashmere fibers - those that are collected annually in limited quantities, which is one of the factors that raise the price of the material. The cashmere garment is undoubtedly a long-term investment. With proper care it will remain in perfect condition for years, it will not fade, it will not overflow.
How is cashmere collected?
Cashmere wool is collected by combing the substrate (lower layer of the scalp) of the cashmere goat. This extremely hardy species lives in the plateaus of China and Mongolia. The substrate of cashmere goat hair is dense and soft, it provides excellent protection at very low temperatures, which often drop to 40 ° C below zero. Raw cashmere is collected by combing the substrate in spring and summer, undergoing a long process of handmade processing, resulting in cashmere yarn, from which the sweater, shawl or a blanket is woven. To make a medium-sized sweater, you need 3-5 goats' wool.
How and with what criteria, to choose cashmere clothes?
When choosing a sweater or other cashmere product, pay attention not only to the color and size, but also to the number of layers (the so-called ply) of the cashmere yarn, from which the clothes are woven. It is this parameter that determines under what conditions you will feel better when you wear your cashmere garment. In general, the more layers, the warmer the garment. The most common are the garments with two layers of yarn. Cashmere sweaters, pashminas, blouses, cardigans and blankets are worn all year round and always with great comfort. The thickest products are these with ten and twelve layers, which are worn during the coldest seasons of the year. And you will naturally find these in us.
Where are cashmere products produced?
One of the most important factors in the production of cashmere products is the place where they are made. Most products are definitely made in China - where they try to automate some parts of production, so they are not the final products, of the same quality as the products produced in the traditional "honest", handmade way. Cashmere products are also produced in Europe - the first place is definitely occupied by Scotland, followed by Italy. Production in Europe is also partially automated.
So where are best cashmere products coming from?
They come from a country that belongs to the poorest countries in the world. But it hides inside it, interesting natural wealth. It is home to the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, and the highest mountain range on Earth, the Himalayas.
This is an area with very favorable conditions for the collection and processing of cashmere. The higher the altitude and the greater the frost, the more developed hair the cashmere goats have. As a result, the highest quality cashmere yarns are collected there.
Raw cashmere is processed in Nepal. The best cashmere products come from Nepal. Most production units are located around the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.
The country is plagued by extreme poverty, low education and high unemployment. The majority of the active population lives from agriculture, or from the production of cashmere products. In addition to cashmere garments, they also make very expensive cashmere rugs and blankets.
